The police issued orders to release previously detained activists.  Masi Nayyem, the lawyer, reports this on Facebook.
“The police officers issued orders to release previously detained activists under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and the possible violation of part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The reason – absence of enough pieces of evidence that could prove those people committed a crime, so that’s why the activists were not recognized as suspects nor would be during the time they had been detained”, - the report said.

It is emphasized that many investigation actions should be undertaken, but it is impossible to finish the investigation for 24 hours.
“According to the part 2 of the Article 278 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine a person could be recognized as a suspect after 24 hours since they had been detained; if the person did not face any accusations over 24 hours since they had been detained, then they have to be released immediately”, - the report said.

As we reported earlier, the State Investigation Bureau (SIB) opened criminal proceedings after numerous accusations against the police in beating protesters near the office in Kyiv.
The law enforcement officers detained people who stormed the police department in Kyiv and fought with the police. About this reports the press service of the Kyiv police on Facebook.
On Kontraktova Square, law enforcement officers saw a group of people with covered faces. They had gas cartridges and knives. The police detained them and took them to the police station.
Soon the detainees were released, but the others came to the rescue. Unknown people tried to damage the entrance doors, used gas cartridges and fought with law enforcement officers.
As a result, the police detained about 40 people and opened 3 criminal proceedings under the articles “Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer”, “Seizure of public buildings” and “Hooliganism”.
As a result of the brawl, three police officers hospitalized with injuries.
