Unknown vandals attempted to crash the monuments of lions located on the entrance to Polish military graveyard; the cemetery is a part of Lychakivske memorial complex in Lviv, western Ukraine.
Andriy Moskalenko, Lviv's deputy mayor for development affairs posted that on Facebook.
'At about 2 a.m., there was another attempt to break the constructions with the lion-shaped sculptures on the Polish military graveyard. The constructions were already restored by the morning', the message said.
The police and the state security service rushed to the scene but failed to detain the malefactors.
The investigation actions are underway.
The Polish military graveyard sustained a number of incidents involving the vandal activity since the opening in 2005. Last month, three Polish students attempted to burn the flares on its premises. Later, it appeared that the graveyard's security detained three young men who carried the flares in a bag; they were taken in before they managed to light the flares.
