Ukrainian soldier fined for stealing and damaging military property
The city court of Cherkasy sustained the case of the military prosecutor's office of Cherkasy garrison of the Central Region of Ukraine in the interests of the Defense Ministry. The verdict, in this case, envisaged a 140,000 U.S.dollar-fine for the respondent (almost 4 million Ukrainian hryvnas, - 112 International). The military prosecutor's office of Cherkasy garrison reported that on Tuesday.
The lawsuit was filed against the Ukrainian citizen who served in Donbas combat area in February 2015. He got drunk, stole a self-propelled artillery unit and ran into a tree, crashing the vehicle and damaging its mechanisms.
Earlier, two bloggers from Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, infiltrated the premises of a local tank factory where hundreds of old tanks are stored. They recorded the video which they put on their YouTube account; however, as of the evening of July 17, the actual video has been already deleted.  The video clearly showed that there's no security on the infrastructure object, with the watchtower partially destroyed, and the gates between the parts of the storage left opened.
The bloggers confirmed that they found some 300 old Soviet tanks and about a dozen new ones - 'plus the vehicle, which brought them there'. 'It looked like tanks show! The new tanks had seals on them, - apparently, they were never used', reads the description of the video. The police of Kharkiv region opened a criminal case on the fact of illegal infiltration onto the premises of a state-run facility.
