Foreign Minister discusses economic cooperation in Canada

Pavlo Klimkin, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, visited Canada, where he met with the Government of the country, including the authorities of Alberta province, as the press office of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry reports.
“One of the priority topics of the meetings were the discussion of the perspectives of the economic cooperation and reactivation of the contacts between Alberta and Ukrainians enterprises, in particular, in terms of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Canada,” the message says.

Klimkin also conducted a separate meeting with the leader of Alberta’s Conservative Party Jason Kenny, who in 2015 held the positions of Canada’s Defence Minister and was responsible for the beginning of UNFIER training mission and sending of military aid to Ukraine.
“Besides, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs had a meaningful conversation with the leaders of the Ukrainian NGOs in Western Canada,” the message says.

The issues of the consolidation of Canada’s assistance to Ukraine within the struggle against Russian armed aggression was discussed at the meeting.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Consulate General was opened in Edmonton, the capital of Alberta province.
