The state of health of Ukrainian political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh detained in occupied Crimea is really bad and he takes painkillers. Olha Dinze, the lawyer of Balukh claimed this after the visit of prisoner as "Crimean human rights group" reported.
"My client looks sickly; he is really not feeling well. Volodymyr has severe headaches, he has dizziness, his back and liver hurt. He takes painkillers. The situation with hunger strike remains unchanged," she said.

On September 10, the Supreme Court of the occupied Crimea controlled by the Kremlin did not grant the appeal of Volodymyr Balukh’s lawyer Olga Dinze on his conditional release. It was noted that the activist participated in the session through a video conference from the remand prison.
Reportedly, as of September 5, Balukh is hungering for 171 days. He lost 30kg over the period of the hunger strike.

As it was reported earlier the ‘February 26 case’ is the infamous case of several Crimean Tatar activists detained by the Russian ‘authorities’ of Crimea in 2014; the protesters are suspected of ‘organization and participation in the mass disturbances in Crimea on February 26, 2014’, when the Crimean Tatars tried to prevent the occupation of the peninsula by Russian troops and the overthrowing of the Ukrainian authority there. Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermenji were arrested in April and May 2014, respectively.
Earlier the court of Simferopol extended the detention period for Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermenji. Thus, the detained Crimean Tatars will stay behind the bars until January 7, 2017.
