Many difficulties will arise in the issue of negotiations on the exchange of prisoners,  if politicians make careless statements about these negotiations and create an unfavorable background. Viktor Medvedchuk, the leader of the Ukrainian Choice, spoke about this in 'A Big Interview with a Big Politician' on 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"Returning to the issue of negotiations over Sentsov: it is difficult to negotiate when they create this background, in which it is very difficult to talk about something. It could be said just by a politician of some kind, but this is an official (it's about Iryna G regarding the liberation of Savchenko and Sentsov, - Ed.) And why they give these estimates? After all, Sentsov is detained there, well, if he comes back, then you'll tell. You need to expect that there are still people there, and we need to get them out too, maybe we need to think about it about this two steps forward?" said Viktor Medvedchuk.

Answering the question on will Sentsov return home, Medvedchuk replied: "Of course he will."

He also noted that he does not understand the experts who predicted that Russian President Vladimir Putin would release Sentsov before his meeting with US President Donald Trump in Helsinki.

"You can imagine the level of these" expert "politicians - it's like the last century and another stratosphere:" Putin will have mercy on Sentsov to please Trump. "And do they know that Russia for five or seven years has been In addition, according to Medvedchuk, today negotiations for the release of the prisoner Oleg Sentsov are not being conducted because of the actions of the human rights commissioner Lyudmyla Denisova.
As is known, Oleg Sentsov, the Ukrainian political prisoner, has been starving in Russia penal colony of Labytnangi for 100 days now. He announced hunger strike in May 2014, demanding to release him and the rest of Ukrainian political prisoners illegally held by the Kremlin. Sentsov already survived three health crises; the medics warn that the fourth one, which might involve the breakdown of the body's internal organs, could begin anytime.
The native of Crimea, film director and political activist, Sentsov was illegally detained in Crimea in 2014, then taken to Russia. They judged him and sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment at a high-security penal colony. The prosecutors charged Sentsov with preparing terrorist acts in the occupied Crimea. Sentsov denies his guilt. Ukraine's government, common citizens and the international society - politicians, artists, public figures - urge the Kremlin to release him.
Sentsov enjoys the wide support of the many in Ukraine and abroad. Rallies, where participants urge to release him, are held worldwide - in Ukraine, Russia, the EU and the U.S.
