Council] adopted and published by the Council of the European Union on July 30.
Two companies of the Russian businessman Arkady Rotenberg
– PJSC Mostotrest and Stroygazmontazh Corporation (SGM Group) – are put under EU sanctions. Both companies have already been included into the U.S. sanction list.
Apart from that, AO “Institute Giprostroymost — Saint-Petersburg”, JSC Zaliv Shipyard, Stroygazmontazh Most, CJSC VAD are also added into the list of entities.
“The construction of this bridge (the Kerch Bridge, - ed.) and its official opening, on 15 May 2018, are key symbolic steps in consolidating the Russian Federation's control over the illegally annexed Crimea and Sevastopol and further isolating the peninsula from Ukraine,” states the Regulation.
“The bridge is connecting Russia to the illegally annexed Crimean peninsula. Therefore it is supporting the consolidation of the illegally annexed Crimean peninsula into the Russian Federation, which in turn further undermines the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,” reads the Regulation.

The Council regards the construction of the Kerch Bridge as a further action undermining the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
