OSCE not to visit Crimea without invitation of Ukrainian authorities

OSCE
OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights is not planning to visit Crimea without the invitation of Ukranian authorities. Thomas Ramer, Spokesperson of OSCE claimed this, according to TASS.
Earlier, Izvestia, the Russian newspaper reported OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights stated on readiness to send a delegation to Crimea to assess of the situation with the human rights in the region.

'Izvestia lifted the phrase out of the context to misrepresent the statement,' Thomas Ramer commented the situation.
'We said we are always ready to organize a visit for the assessment of the situation with the human rights in the region but only with the invitation of Ukrainian authority. We are not preparing any mission right now and we never changed our position,' Ramer noted.

Reportedly, Russia annexed Crimea in March 2014. Allegedly undertaken referendum demonstrated the willingness of Crimean people to join the Russian Federation. From the moment of the annexation most of the payment systems, international online stores and auctions stopped their functioning. Human rights organizations regularly report on the mass violation of human rights on the peninsula, in particular, rights of Crimean Tatars who are against the annexation.
