Kyiv court appoints appeal in Martynenko case on August 1

Court of Appeal of Kyiv contemplates examining the complaint of Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) against the decision of Shevchenkivskyi District Court in Martynenko case. UNN reports this with the reference to SAPO's data.  
The court plans to consider an appeal regarding the return of the indictment to the prosecutor in the case against Mykola Martynenko, former MP of Ukraine. 

A panel of judges will hear the case under the chairmanship of Judge Oleksandr Chornyi.
As it was reported earlier, Shevchenkivskyi District Court returned the prosecutor the case against the former MP Mykola Martynenko and a group of others in the laundering of funds obtained by criminal means to address the shortcomings. 
Reportedly, former MP Mykola Martynenko was detained by National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) detectives on April 20. He is suspected of embezzling funds of Eastern mining and processing plant state enterprise (Vostgok). 

According to Nazar Kholonytsky, Head of SAPO, the ex-MP face up to 12 years in prison.  
On April 22, Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv applied a preventive measure against Martynenko in the form of personal security. 18 MPs interceded for him.  
Ex-MP was imposed to inform on the change of residence, report to calls for conducting investigations and refrain from talking to a number of individuals recorded in suspicion files, and to sit his passport. The last demand was omitted on December 6.
