Kyiv court appoints appeal inMartynenkocase on August 1
Court of Appeal of Kyiv contemplates examining the complaint of Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) against the decision ofShevchenkivskyiDistrict Court inMartynenkocase. UNNreportsthis with the reference to SAPO's data.
The court plans to consider an appeal regarding the return of the indictment to the prosecutor in the case against Mykola Martynenko, former MP of Ukraine.

A panel of judges will hear the caseunder the chairmanship of JudgeOleksandrChornyi.
As it was reported earlier,ShevchenkivskyiDistrict Courtreturned theprosecutorthe case against the former MPMykolaMartynenkoand a group of others in the laundering of funds obtained by criminal meansto address the shortcomings.
Reportedly, former MPMykolaMartynenkowas detained by National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) detectives on April 20. He is suspected of embezzling funds of Eastern mining and processing plant state enterprise (Vostgok).

According to NazarKholonytsky, Head of SAPO, the ex-MP face up to 12 years in prison.
On April22,SolomyanskyiDistrict Court of Kyivapplied a preventive measureagainstMartynenkoin the form of personal security. 18 MPsintercededfor him.
Ex-MP was imposed to inform on the change of residence, report to calls for conducting investigations andrefrain from talking to a number ofindividuals recorded in suspicion files, and tosit his passport. The last demand wasomittedonDecember6.
