Thomas Greminger, Secretary-General of OSCE claimed that the representatives of the Russian Federation have a right to participate in OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine. He claimed this at the briefing in Kramatorsk, according to Donbas News.
'From 44 participating countries of OSCE SMM, from 700 monitors working in the field, 37 are from the Russian Federation. This is the position of the mission because Russia is a participating country. They have a right to represent themselves here,' Greminger said.

He added that every member of the mission has to sign the OSCE Code.
The Secretary-General also noted that the participants of the mission are representing the International Organization OSCE in the first place but not a certain country, and this is why their activities should be guided by the principles and values of the organization.
Reportedly, Thomas Greminger, Secretary-General of OSCE within the work visit to JFO area, visited Maiorske control point and met with the command.

Earlier, the representatives of Ukraine in Trilateral Contact Group addressed OSCE with a request to undertake an investigation of the messages about the possible stealing of the personal data of  OSCE SMM participants.
On July 17 it turned out that Russian intelligence could get internal documents of Ukrainian team of OSCE. According to ARD, an officer of OSCE mission could refer the documents to the Russian side.
Although, Oleksandr Hug, Principal Deputy of the Head of Mission in Ukraine assured that OSCE SMM mission hadn't been collecting personal and financial information of their officers.
