American senator Lindsey Graham from the Republican Party claimed that the US should prepare new sanctions for the Russian interference into the upcoming election to the U.S. Congress in 2018 as Voice of America reported.

Graham insists that the sanctions should be prepared before the possible meeting of Trump and Putin in Washington.
"It is impossible to meet such a person (Putin) from a position of weakness. It is necessary to do two things. It is important to strengthen our electoral framework. Also, it is important to work with the Congress in the elaboration of the new sanctions as Putin does not understand our message," the senator said.

Also, he noted that Donald Trump was tougher toward Russia than ex-president Barack Obama but "it does not work".
"We need new sanction that will hang over him (Putin) as a sword of Damocles and only then we can meet him," Graham insisted.

Earlier we reported that sponsors of the Russian “troll factory”, which interfered in the U.S. presidential election in 2016, has launched new American website in the run-up to the mid-term election to the Congress. According to the message, the issue is about the internet-portal USAReally.
This autumn the so-called the mid-term election to the Congress will take place. During it, new members of the House of the Representatives – 35 senators and 39 governors will be selected.
