The OSCE SMM did not collect personal and financial information about its workers. Exactly such data, according to the German TV Channel ARD, was passed to the Russian intelligence. Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug claimed this to Hromadske.
"The OSCE SMM does not collect the information about its workers. The privacy and safety issues of our staff are very important. We also respect the fundamental rights for the personal lives of our workers and we do no monitor, observe or closely follow the personal lives of our workers," he noted.

At the same time, the OSCE appealed to the German TV Channel for more detailed information about the leak of the personal data of the mission's workers from Donbas Conflict zone.
"We reported to the ARD journalists that we need more details about this case. The OSCE as the organization can assume very decisive measure and procedures for such situations. And our safety systems, including those connected to the information one, are always checked," he noted.

As we reported the OSCE SMM in Ukraine expressed the concern that its internal documents, including the dossiers on the OSCE staff, were passed to the Russian side. It was said that they contained a lot of personal information about the OSCE workers, including the types of women they were attracted to, their financial situation and whether they were susceptible to alcohol.
