Russia has been the most aggressive player in the meddling with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, carrying on with the special operations against the United States. Christopher Wray, the FBI Director said that as quoted by NBC.
Holding a speech at the opening of Aspen security forum in Colorado on July 18, Wray confirmed the results of the probe of the U.S. special services into Russia's interference in the U.S. presidential race in 2016.
'My view has not changed, which is that Russia attempted to interfere with the last election and that it continues to engage in malign influence operations to this day,' he said.

As is known, on Monday, U.S. leader Donald Trump met with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. The U.S. president doubted in the result of the investigation; later, he said he did not believe that Russian measures against U.S. democracy continued. Then, Trump and his press secretary rebuked these comments, claiming semantic errors and misunderstanding; Trump said he agreed with the conclusions of the U.S. military intelligence, saying that Russia continues to go into operations against the U.S.

'The FBI, which has been led by Wray for nearly a year following James Comey's dismissal, has been the target of criticism from Trump and congressional Republicans for its role in the probes into Hillary Clinton's emails and Russia's attempts to influence the 2016 election. Wray has stood up to pressure to fire senior FBI officials and refused to hand over some information related to the federal probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election', NBC wrote.
