Diplomatic circles in Brussels informed the media that leaders of EU member countries agreed to extend the economic sanctions against the Kremlin - because of absence of progress in seeking solution to Donbas conflict. DW wrote that, reiterating that the previous expiration date was July 31, 2018.
Earlier, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine introduced the refreshed sanctions list, which now consists of 1,762 individuals and 786 companies, political parties and industrial enterprises, based either in Russia or in the occupied areas of eastern Ukraine. This is mentioned in the message on the Council's website.
Another 30 entities and 14 people joined the list.

According to the SBU, Ukraine's state security service, Ukraine imposed the restrictive measures, identical to those imposed by the U.S. government against the entities, involved in the activity of Russian special services in the cyberspace. Among these are 'Kvant' research centre, LLC 'DiveTechnoService', LLC 'Digital Security Technologies', ERPScan BV and Embedi Limited.
The list of sanctioned entities was extended at the cost of political parties and NGOs, involved in the organization and holding of the Russian parliamentary elections in the annexed Crimea.
Other sanctions concern Russian military industry enterprises, as well as Luhansk aviation maintenance plant, located in the occupied territory of Ukraine.
