Political prisoner Balukh faces more pressure in jail, - media

Radio Liberty
Representatives of the Russian ombudsman's office visited Volodymyr Balukh in his prison cell; after that, the penitentiary facility workers took the TV away from the cell. Besides, they held him in the so-called 'pencil cell' - where the inmate can only stand or sit - for two hours. Krym.Realii reported that with the reference to the Crimean human rights protection group.
Balukh felt sick due in that cell to the lack of fresh air, the human rights watchers report. According to them, such worsening of detention conditions and the deliberately imposed punishment for Balukh is the additional pressure on him.
As is known, Volodymyr Balukh was detained in Crimea in December 2016. The Russian law enforcers detained him for the alleged storage of ammunition; the court sentenced him to three and a half years in prison. In March, the political prisoner announced a hunger strike, protesting against the political persecutions against him.
