Oleg Sentsov's relatives did not ask Russian president Putin to release the Ukrainian filmmaker before the start of FIFA World Cup in Russia. Natalya Kaplan, Sentsov's sister posted this on Facebook. Thus, she denied the previous piece of information that appeared in the media.
'I responsibly claim that I have never turned to Putin; I don't even know where it comes from. Maybe they just misunderstood me', she wrote.
Thus, she denied the previous piece of information that appeared in the media.
'We have so little time left... I very much hope that Putin makes the decision to release him and all Ukrainian political prisoners before the World Cup', one of the outlets quoted Kaplan as saying.

Earlier, the partakers of the campaign in the support of the Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov began a new stage #SaveOlegSentsov, within which they will urge the G7 countries leaders to draw key attention to the release of the Ukrainian movie maker and other Kremlin prisoners at G7 summit. The organizers of the campaign reported this on Facebook.
‘Oleg Sentsov is on hunger strike for the 26th day. Draw attention to his release at least for 26 seconds! Today we begin a new stage of our global campaign #SaveOlegSentsov and urge non-indifferent people to join our online protest on June 8-9’, the message said.
Particularly, the organizers noted that the leaders of the G7 countries will gather on June 8-9 in Malbaie, Canada to discuss the most important issues of the world.

‘We are sure that the release of Oleg Sentsov and all 70 Kremlin prisoners should be one of the key issues of the summit. We can achieve this working together!’.
Every person who wants to join the campaign should come to Facebook, opens the links to the public pages of the politicians and write one of the urges under their last post. It is necessary to put such hashtags as #SaveOlegSentsov and #freesentsov.
Ukrainian political prisoner, sentenced to 20-years-long imprisonment in Russia, announced a hunger strike on May 14. This way, he demands that all Ukrainians detained in Russia and annexed Crimea be released. Sentsov said he was ready to die if the requirements were not fulfilled.
The relatives of Sentsov note the deterioration of his health. According to the sister, he gets injections of glucose in the amount of one liter daily.
