Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, thinks that the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court may be created by the end of this year, as he said at the meeting with the students of Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
“Many doubts that we will make it (create the Anti-Corruption Court, - ed.) this year, to the end of the year. I regard this as a significant element of the reforms,” he said.
The President is convinced that a lot of time was spent for discussion, it is high time to form this system.

“I believe, that as soon as I receive it (the bill, - ed.), it is to happen quite soon, signed by me, the Verkhovna Rada will adopt two more bills which provide the functioning, including the functioning of the procedurally indicated court,” he noted.
The Head of the state predicts that the criteria for the selection of the judges will be rigid. Yet, decent candidates will be appointed after all.

“I think, there will be a couple of hundreds of them, the more the better. However, they have to possess high professional qualities, along with people’s trust,” he stressed.
“Certainly, to start the High Judicial Selection Commission and the Ukrainian Military Law-Enforcement Service (VSP) will set a court as soon as 35 people are selected,” Poroshenko noted.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Parliament voted for the creation of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court on June 7. 315 MPs supported the decision.
