The UK has urged Russia to release 70 Ukrainian political prisoners, particularly Oleg Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Oleksandr Shumkov and Volodymyr Balukh who went on the hunger strike as the press service of the U.K. Foreign Office reported.
'We are deeply concerned about the welfare of the four Ukrainian nationals held by Russia, who are on hunger strike in protest against Russia’s continued detention of Ukrainian political prisoners. Their imprisonment, and that of many more Ukrainians who have been jailed by Russia, appears politically motivated. We call on the Russian authorities to release them immediately', the message said.

Their detention, as well as other 70 Ukrainians, including the Crimean Tatars, shows the systematical prosecutions of Russia of those who stand against the illegal annexation of Crimea.
'Russia’s control over Crimea remains illegal and illegitimate, and is a flagrant violation of a number of Russia’s international commitments', the message stated.

As we reported Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov who continues the hunger strike in Russia, wrote the letter, addressed to the leaders of G7 member countries.
Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov has announced a hunger strike on May 14. This way, he demands that all Ukrainians detained in Russia and annexed Crimea be released. Sentsov said he was ready to die if the requirements were not fulfilled.
