Ukrainian political prisoner in occupied Crimea Yevhen Panov refused to 'make a deal with the prosecution'. Ihor Kotelianets, the Chairman of 'Union of relatives of Kremlin political prisoners' claimed this as 5 Channel reported.

Due to such decision, the Ukrainian can be sentenced to 20 years of the imprisonment.
'Yevhen was put pressure for a very long period of time, he is in jail for two years. he was told, if he makes a deal with the prosecution and recognize he was the Ukrainian terrorist and Ukraine wanted to commit the terrorist actions, he will face five years in the jail not far from home; if he does not do this, he will face 20 years as Sentsov and will be sent far away. Yevhen did not make any deal. We expect he will be sentenced to the maximal term of the imprisonment – 20 years', Kotelianets said.

As we reported earlier, Yevhen Panov was detained in the case of preparation of acts of sabotage in the Crimea on August 15. The total number of detainees reached nine in this case. Moscow blames Ukrainian intelligence in arranging the attacks.
The District Court of Simferopol has arrested the second suspect in the allegedly preparing "terrorist acts" in occupied Crimea Andriy Zahtey on August 13.

Previously, Ukrainian citizen Yevhen Panov was beaten with a metal pipe in the first few days after the arrest. Panov told the lawyer that he had been kidnapped on August 7 by the FSB operatives. It is not specified where exactly he was kidnapped, in Crimea or in the continental Ukraine. When abducted he was hit in the forehead, the cut marked on photos and videos confirms it. In addition to the physical torture, said Panov, psychological one was applied to him too.
