The construction of the German part of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has begun in Germany. The representative of Nord Stream Company claimed this to dpa as Deutsche Welle reported.
It is noted that the works on the re-excavation and laying of the foundation for the gas receiving stations and the maintenance building have already begun at the docking point of the future pipeline in Lubmin,  Mecklenburg-Vorpommern land, at the square of about six hectares.

According to the representative of the company, the works take place according to the established schedule. He is sure that all permission for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 will be issued.
'We are sure that we will get all proper permission'.
According to the representative, the string of the first Nord Stream was situated in this corridor due to the strong desire of Denmark and the company is sure that the government in Copenhagen will agree on the construction of Nord Stream 2 in this corridor.

However, Nord Stream also works out the alternative routes bypassing 12-miles zone in the case of the unforeseen complications.
Ukraine, Baltic States and Poland strongly protest against the construction of the Nord Stream 2, fearing the further strengthening of Russia's position as the gas monopolist in Europe.

all necessary permits needed for the project have also been received in Germany. The national permitting procedures in the other three countries along the route – Russia, Sweden and Denmark – are proceeding as planned.
Russia’s leading energy enterprise Gazprom and its partners intend to start implementing the Nord Stream-2 project worth almost 10 billion euros in April 2018. The 1,200-kilometers-long pipeline is to be laid through the Baltic Sea, linking Russia and Germany – bypassing Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic States. The capacity will be twice larger than that of Nord Stream-1. The construction is to be complete by late 2019.
