Armenia’s ruling Republican Party intends to support the candidate who is to be nominated by the one-third deputies, as Vahram Baghdasaryan, the leader of the party, said, Panarmenian reported.
“The Republican party will not nominate its candidate. The Republican party will support the candidate who will be nominated by one-third of deputies,” he said.
Three parliamentary fractions, Yelk, Dashnaktsutyun and Tsarukyan, have stated that they would support the leader of the protest movement of Nikol Pashinyan.

Before the statement, the Republican Party held a meeting with the party’s leader, Serzh Sargsyan, the third president and ex-PM.
As it was reported, Armenia’s Parliament voted against electing Pashinyan a PM. Later, Pashinyan announced a total transit blockade in Armenia.
Nest Parliament’s session is to be held on May 8, when the elections of the PM will take place.
Sargsyan resigned on April 23 and Karen Karapetyan, the first Vice Prime Minister became the acting Prime Minister of Armenia. Later one of the parties withdrawn from the ruling coalition, however, the protests did not end.
