State Department calls Europe for imposing sanctions against Iran

Brian Hook, a Senior Policy Advisor in U.S. State Department, stated that the USA called the European states and other countries for imposing sanctions against Iran to limit its missile programme, as Reuters reports.
“We are urging nations around the world to sanction any individuals and entities associated with Iran’s missile program, and it has also been a big part of discussions with Europeans,” Hook said.
The Iran situation is the key topic at the talks between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Earlier, the U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to withdraw from a nuclear treaty with Iran if till May 12 the document is not tightened and new restrictions are not imposed on the Iranian missile programme. Tehran renounced any amendments to the done deal.
Iran assumed the obligation to reduce the amounts of uranium enrichment and agreed on tighter international control over its nuclear programme.
The European Union prolonged sanctions against Iran till April 13, 2019 due to the violations of human rights in the state. Anti-Iranian sanctions were imposed in 2011.
Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has prolonged anti-Iranian sanctions. The new national security advisor will offer Trump to step up pressure on Iran.
These sanctions were prolonged by the U.S. Presidents in 1997, 2010 and 2011-2012.
