Historical meeting: Leaders of North and South Koreas shake hands

voanews.com
Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in met at Panmunjom border checkpoint. The historical handshake took place as the North Korean leader visited the neighboring country - for the first time in 65 years.
The warming in the bilateral relations between two Koreas began before the Olympics in Pyeongchang, where the two leaders were supposed to meet for negotiations on April 27.

Panmunjom is the village just north of the de facto border between North and South Korea, where the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement that paused the Korean War was signed. The building where the armistice was signed still stands. Its name is often used as a metonym for the nearby Joint Security Area (JSA), where discussions between North and South Korea still take place in blue buildings that straddle the Military Demarcation Line. As such, it is considered one of the last vestiges of the Cold War.
It is expected that the two officials will sign the agreement about the formal cease of the war, which has never been signed yet.
