The NATO members will pay attention to Ukraine and its intentions to become an alliance member at the summit. Rose Gottemoeller, the Deputy Secretary-General of NATO claimed this as European Truth reported.
'We will pay the attention to all partners in the documents and declaration of the summit and Ukraine is an important partner of the NATO. It is early to talk about the specific wording as we should agree on the content of the summit's documents. But I predict that you will see there a clear intention to support the Ukrainian efforts in the reforms and the clear desire to recognize the already implemented reforms', she said.

According to her, NATO hails the annual national program Ukraine-NATO 2018.
'As I know, you have already begun the preparation for the working out of the program for 2019', Gottemoeller added.

She also commented whether Ukraine's intentions will be depicted in the summit's decisions: 'we hail the European democracies that strive for the membership'.
As we reported on March 10, the NATO admitted Ukraine’s aspirations to obtain full membership in the Alliance and gave it a NATO aspirant status.

On April 12, Poroshenko emphasized that Ukraine will insist on the getting the program of the strengthened opportunities and NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP).
The Membership Action Plan (MAP) is a NATO programme of advice, assistance and practical support tailored to the individual needs of countries wishing to join the Alliance. It was launched in April 1999.
