Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook told the U.S. senators his company is in a constant battle with Russian operators seeking to exploit the social network as BBC reported.
‘This is an arms race. They're going to keep getting better’, he said.

Zuckerberg faced the U.S. senators to answer the questions against the scandal with Cambridge Analytica data collection.
Moreover, Facebook CEO revealed that Robert Mueller, the special counsel who investigates the possible interference of Russia in 2016 presidential election had interviewed Facebook staff. However, Zuckerberg was not questioned.
‘Our work with the special counsel is confidential and I want to make sure that in an open session I'm not revealing something that's confidential’.

Talking about the security, Zuckerberg claimed that the company is developing new tools to identify fake accounts.
‘There are people in Russia whose job it is to try to exploit our systems and other internet systems and other systems as well. We need to invest in getting better at this too’.
Earlier in the framework of the investigation of Russia meddling in the U.S. presidential election in 2016, the US has accused 13 Russian citizens. The statement accuses Internet Research Agency also known as Russian 'troll factory'.

On March 17, it became known that Cambridge Analytica Company that cooperated with Donald Trump during the election of the U.S. President illegally got the data of 50 million of users of Facebook. This data was used for the determining of the political preferences of the voters and showing of the political advertisements to them.
Zuckerberg was invited to the European Parliament to explain this incident. Zuckerberg should explain whether the use of the data of the Europeans for the manipulation took place. It could be used by London’s Cambridge Analytica Company during Trump's election campaign.
