Zuckerberg called in EU Parliament due to data leak of 50 million Facebook users

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook was called in the European Parliament to provide the explanations due to the abuse of the personal data by Cambridge Analytica Company. Antonio Tajani, the President of the EU Parliament reported this on .
According to him, Zuckerberg should explain whether the use of the data of the Europeans for the manipulation took place.

'We’ve invited Mark Zuckerberg to the European Parliament. Facebook needs to clarify before the representatives of 50 million Europeans that personal data is not being used to manipulate democracy', Tajani wrote.
On March 17, it became known that Cambridge Analytica Company that cooperated with Donald Trump during the election of the U.S. President illegally got the data of 50 million of users of Facebook. This data was used for the determining of the political preferences of the voters and showing of the political advertisements to them.

The next day U.S. and U.K. authorities filed the request to the company on the receiving of the details of this incident.
Forbes reported later that Zuckerberg lost $5 billion due to this scandal.
