Ukrainian movie maker Oleg Sentsov is not going to sign petition for pardon - even if that's necessary for his exchange and release from Russian jail. Natalya Kaplan, his sister said that on the air of Radio NV.
Kaplan spoke to lawyer Dmytro Dinze who retracted the piece on information about Ukrainian political prisoner allegedly preparing the petition - in case it would be necessary to release and exchange him. According to Kaplan, Sentsov 'will not act like this'.
Previously, the media spread the statement by Dinze, which said that Sentsov was as ready to write a petition for a pardon if it is necessary for the exchange.

‘There will be no other option, probably. All political prisoners, including Savchenko passed through this procedure. There are only two ways: to go and write or to stay imprisoned’, Dinze had said. According to him, Sentsov expects the exchange but does not thinks it will take place any time soon.
‘If he is exchanged then probably, a few persons will be exchanged for him’, the lawyer noted.
As it is known, Ukrainian movie director Oleg Sentsov and Crimean activist Oleksandr Kolchenko were detained by the Russian FSB in the annexed Crimea. Both were taken to Russia. Sentsov was charged with preparing a terrorist act in Crimea and sentenced to 20 years in the high-security penal colony. Kolchenko was sentenced to ten-years-long imprisonment.
