Oleh Sentsov, the illegally convicted in Russia Ukrainian director is ready to write a petition for a pardon if it is necessary for the exchange. Dmytro Dinze, the advocate of Sentsov claimed this to Crimea.Realii.
‘There will be no other variant, probably. All political prisoners, including Savchenko passed through this procedure. There are only two ways: to go and write or to stay imprisoned’, he said.
According to him, Sentsov expects the exchange but thinks that it will not take place soon.
‘If he is exchanged then probably, a few persons will be exchanged for him’, the lawyer noted.

He also added that Sentsov was discussed in Russia at all levels of the law enforcement bodies to not make a quick decision on his release.
Also, the lawyer spoke about the detention facility where the director is kept.
‘He lives separately. He does not contact anybody. He writes the plots, creates, and refuses from the work. He is not interested in the work, as he says, ‘for the regime’. He works for himself and waits when he will be released’.
According to him, the Ukrainian was offered to work at the film production company or kitchen. However, he refused from the cooperation with the administration.

There are 30-40 people in the common barrack where Sentsov lives. He has quite good relations with the detained, he does not come into conflict, and there are no claims to him.
He has an access to the radio, TV and library. At the same time, he stands against the visit of his mother and children. He is afraid that they will worry.

The advocate noted that if somebody wants to help, they can send money, clothes, and products to his sister.
As it is known, Ukrainian movie director Oleg Sentsov and Crimean activist Oleksandr Kolchenko were detained by the Russian FSB in the annexed Crimea. Both were taken to Russia. Sentsov was charged with preparing a terrorist act in Crimea and sentenced to 20 years in the high-security penal colony. Kolchenko was sentenced to ten-years-long imprisonment.
