EU to not recognize election in occupied Crimea, - Mogherini
The EU will not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia and will also not recognize the results of Russia’s presidential election held there. Federica Mogherini, the Vice President of the European Commission claimed this at the briefing as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
‘We do not recognize this illegal annexation and will continue to implement our policy towards the non-recognition of the illegal annexation. We also will continue to condemn the violations of the international law and we also will not recognize the election that will be held in Crimea and continue the sanctions. We will urge to respect the human rights toward all citizens who live on this territory, including the Crimean Tatars and we urge to release all those who illegally detained or arrested in Crimea or Russia’, Mogherini claimed.

Earlier Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine claimed that Ukraine will not recognize the election of the president of Russia in occupied Crimea and implement the sanctions against its organizers.
The election of the president of Russia will take place on March 18, 2018. The Central Election Commission registered eight candidates, including Vladimir Putin, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Ksenia Sobchak and Grigory Yavlinsky.

Poroshenko urged the international partners to not send the observers to occupied Crimea for the ‘election’ of Russia’s president.
