The delegation of the EU to Ukraine launches nationwide communication campaign ‘Moving Forward Together in Ukraine that aims to increase the awareness of the Ukrainians on the advantages and possibilities of the cooperation of the EU as it is stated on the website of the delegation.
It is noted that campaign includes the EU prioritized issues in Ukraine: the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), conflict response and decentralization. Moreover, the campaign highlights key EU programs and initiatives, including Horizon 2020, EU4Business, Creative Europe to inform on the support of the innovations, small and medium business and development of the culture in Ukraine.

‘We began a nationwide communication campaign aiming to illustrate benefits of EU-Ukraine cooperation for the Ukrainians today. We want citizens in this country to be aware of the support that the EU provides to Ukraine and use many opportunities that it provides, including youth, businesses and culture and education institutions of this country. In partnership with the Ukrainian government, this cooperation will result in positive changes and improvement of lives of Ukrainian citizens’, Hugues Mingarelly, the Ambassador and the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine said.
It is noted that Ukraine is a priority partner and the EU allocated more than 12 billion euros to it during last three years. However, according to the survey Kyiv International Institute of Sociology held in December 2017, 77% of Ukrainians do not know about the EU programs in Ukraine. Awareness of the EU programs and the opportunities and the benefits they offer for Ukrainian in the fields of trade, culture, and education exchanges, the support for the key reforms like decentralization or to the assistance for the internally displaced people is even lower.

'Moving Forward Together' campaign will begin on March 12 on national TV and will be followed with more targeted and specific information on EU projects and programs in print, digital and outdoor media.
The slogan of the 'Moving Forward Together' campaign shows the positive partnership between Ukraine and the EU and their common goal.
On September 1, 2017, the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement entered into full force and effect as foreseen by the respective statement earlier released by the EU. Later Petro Poroshenko noted that Ukraine’s Association Agreement with the European Union is fulfilled only for 15%.
