President of the United States Donald Trump ordered to extend for another year sanctions against the Russian Federation due to the situation in Ukraine. This was reported in the White House, reports RIA Novosti.

The report notes that when the situation around Ukraine "continues to represent an unusual and extraordinary threat to national security and US international policy," the effect of the presidential decree of 2014, which imposed sanctions on Russia, is extended by one year.

The White House informed about the corresponding decision the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Paul Ryan.

We recall, on January 26, the United States extended sanctions to 9 Russian companies, another 12 sanctions were clarified. In addition, 21 names have been added to the sanctions list, including Andrei Tcherezov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation. Under the new sanctions were Russians and companies that participated in the supply of Siemens turbines to Crimea.

For their part, in Russia authorities said they have the right to an answer, and sanctions and bans will not yield results.
