Russian president can't be elected in Ukrainian Crimea, - Ukrainian MP

Ukraine's delegation at PACE will be questioning the legitimacy of holding the in the annexed Crimea. Iryna Gerashchenko, the deputy parliamentary speaker and the member of Ukrainian delegation at PACE said that during her meeting with Mimi Kodeli, the head of Albania's Foreign Affairs Committee.
According to the Ukrainian official, the issue will be further discussed at the sessions of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and NATO.   

'On the eve of the Russian presidential election, they force Ukrainian citizens to switch to the Russian citizenship and give them Russian passports - in order to make people vote on the illegitimate election. You cannot elect Russian president on the Ukrainian territory,' she said.
Gerashchenko asked the Albanian counterparts to support Ukraine in this regard. 
Russian presidential elections are slated for March 18, 2018. The incumbent leader Vladimir Putin also intends to participate.
