Denmark significantly increases military expenses due to Russia's threat

The parliament of Denmark]made a decision on January 28 to additionally allocate 2.14 billion dollars for the military expenses during the next six years, taking into account the threat from Russia as Reuters reported.
The country plans to create the army brigade consisting of 4, 000 members focused on the Baltic Sea.

The military expenses by 20% until 2023.
Earlier the Danish parliament approved the military expenses for 2018 in the sum of 3.7 billion dollars.
'The threat from Russia is real and increasing, so we must show determination to defense - and we are determined', Lars Lokke Rasmussen, the Prime Minister of Denmark said.

Earlier we reported that the government of Denmark plans to essentially increase the spending on the defense to resist intensified military activity of Russia in Eastern and Central Europe.
Russia moved nuclear-capable Iskander-M missiles to its enclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea and deployed its S-400 air missile defense system there in 2016.

Earlier Mateusz Morawiecki, the Prime Minister of Poland said that he viewed Russia as a serious threat to Poland in his interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
