Police, SBU search for Saakashvili, ex-mayor says he is to spend night in tent near Parliament

The SBU, Ukraine’s state security service, and the National Police are now searching for who faced charges of aiding and abetting a criminal gang. Yaroslav Trakalo, the spokesperson of the National Police reported that on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, 112 Ukraine TV channel's reporter said Saakashvili stated his intention to remain in the campsite over the night; he repeated that he's not fleeing from justice. His supporters remain on the square in front of the Parliament's building in Kyiv; the situation in the area is calm.
Earlier, former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili was detained by the state security service in Kyiv, Ukraine. The official who also used to serve as governor of Odesa region faced charges with aiding and abetting a criminal gang; the respective article of the Criminal Code stipulates three to five years in prison. Saakashvili was taken in on the roof of his house threatening to jump down. Later, his supporters blocked the transport and released him by force. Kyiv Prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case. As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, Saakashvili walks free, surrounded by his supporters, but he may be detained again.
