34 states support updated Ukraine’s UN draft resolution on human rights in Crimea

The updated UN draft resolution on the status of , submitted by Ukraine for UN General Assembly’s consideration on Wednesday, already gained the support of 34 states; they contributed to the document, too. Oleg Nikolenko, the spokesman of Ukraine’s Permanent Office in the UN said that in his commentary for Ukrinform news agency.
‘The updated resolution aims to consolidate the support of Ukraine in terms of de-occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula. It, specifically, demands that Russia abides by the UN International Court order, which foresees cancelation of the ban of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars.  The paper also stresses the necessity of teaching school students in Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages, as well as the urgency to let members of international organizations visit Crimea,’ the diplomat said.     
According to him, the resolution will vote for the draft resolution in mid-November; in December, the document will be considered by the UN General Assembly.
