The EU insists on the necessity to create the detached Anti-Corruption] and it is ready to help with the selection of the judges. The Delegation of the EU to Ukraine reported this to the Europen Truth revealing the position of the EU on the Anti-Corruption Court after the conclusion of the Venice Commission.
The EU notes that the conclusion of the Venice Commission is very important in the context of the further modernization of Ukraine and 'it contains a useful specification of the European standards of the creation of the specialized anti-corruption bodies'.

'Supreme Specialized Anti-Corruption Court should be created as the independent and detached establishment from the existing structure of the judicial power. And conversely, the implementation of this court in the existing structure of the judicial power by appointment of the specialized judges at all local, appeal and supreme courts cannot be justified or be used in the practice, taking into account the acting legislation and the international liabilities of Ukraine towards the creation of the specialized anti-corruption court', the message said.

The EU welcomed the intention of President Petro Poroshenko to create the anti-corruption court that will correspond to the standards of the Council of Europe.
The EU also expressed the readiness to provide the Ukrainian authorities with the support in the creation of the 'Supreme Specialized Anti-Corruption Court that will correspond to the conclusion of the Venice Commission.

'Independence, integrity and professionalism of all judges appointed to the anti-corruption court will have the crucial importance for the restoration of the community's confidence in the authority and the EU is ready to assist the transparency of the process of the judges' selection in the case of need', the EU claimed.
The Venice Commission urged President Poroshenko on October 6 to submit the draft law on the creation of the Anti-Corruption Court to the Verkhovna Rada taking into account the recommendations.
