Moldovan government will insist that its military takes part in the international exercise Rapid Trident-2017 in Ukraine. This was announced by country’s Prime Minister Pavel Filip duing the Cabinet meeting, urging ministers to find an opportunity to send the Moldovan contingent to the exercises, reports NewsMaker.
"The trip to the exercises in Ukraine was cancelled the other day. Before that, five more trips were canceled in the same way. I believe that there are no grounds for this. It's not a secret that 80% of participation expenses are paid for by partners and organizers. Nobody needs an untrained army. I suggest we include in the agenda the government's decision on the participation of our military in the exercises, "Filip said.

As it was reported earlier President of Moldova Igor Dodon prohibited the Moldovan military servicemen to take part in the international Rapid Trident-2017 drills that will take place at Yavoriv proving ground, Lviv region. Dodon published the exchange of the official letters with the Deputy of the Defense Minister George Galbura in Facebook.
