Polish nationalists dismantle Ukrainian Insurgent Army memorial near PrzemyslActivists and representatives of several Polish nationalistic organisations dismantled the memorial gravestone to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army soldiers in Hruszowice village near Przemysl. The campaign was approved by Polish prefect Stubno arouse a strong protest in Union of Ukrainians in Poland. The police did not interfere in the campaign.

“Another anti-Ukrainian provocation took place in Podkarpackie Province on April 26 the dismantling of the remains of Ukrainian memorial in Hruszowice village of Stubno gmina. Two years ago this place of memory was destroyed by unknown vandals, and the current action was carried out by a "group of activists" in which the prefect of Stubno gmina took part. Ruch Narodovy political party assumed the patronage over the campaign,” the message says.

It is stressed that the organisers do not conceal that their goal is to obstruct the events for the 70th anniversary of the Vistula Operation, that is, the deportation of 140,000 Ukrainians from the native lands of southeastern Poland to the north and west.

The Ukrainian Union reminded that impunity and lack of reaction of Poland to the actions of the "unknown intruders" during 2015-2016 only encourage the villains in Poland and Ukraine for such provocations.

Earlier it was reported that Russian Federation is doing everything to undermine relations between Ukrainians and Poles. This opinion was voiced by the Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Peklo in his interview.
