Donbas town of Avdiivka again without water, power due to militant shelling - Ukraine's emergency serviceThere is no heating supply in Avdiivka city of Donetsk region as of 7:00 on March 30 and water supply temporarily stopped.

This is reported by 112 UA TV Channel citing the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

“High-voltage power line was damaged due to hostilities on March 29 that caused suspension of power supply in Avdiivka; Avdiivka coke plant and water filtration station that centrally provide electricity and water were cut off from power,” the message says.

“Heating supply in the city is provided centrally by Avdiivka coke plant. Whereas social facilities that do not have their own backup power systems are provided with electricity by 8 generators of the State Emergency Service,” the rescuers say.

The issue of restoring power supply is being decided. 24 rescuers and 10 vehicles of the Emergency Service are there to solve the problem.

Now the Ukrainian side is trying to establish a silence regime in order to begin restoration of electricity, the head of Avdiivka military civil administration Pavlo Malykhin said.

“There is heating in the houses and we have water in the reservoirs. If we have to, we will provide people with water,” he said.

“Nobody is panicking. AS sad as it is, people got used to this…Emergency Service workers arrived, trying to help. The situation is under control,” he added, commenting the situation in the city.
