Crimean Tatar battalion's camp near Crimea border was attacked, invaded - Ukrainian mediaA group of armed men in uniforms invaded and captured the base camp of Crimean Tatar battalion in Chongar, Kherson region, southern Ukraine – not far from the administrative border with the Russian-annexed Crimea. Radio Kures reported that in late hours of February 12.

An APC ran over the fence and the tent with people inside, then the gunmen took over the camp and ordered everyone to lie on the ground, firing warning shots; no victims were reported.

Local reporters of ATR TV channel said they could not film what’s going on because the storage with their video cameras and other equipment was blocked by the gunmen.

According to Oleg Slobodyan, the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, the National Police and the state security service are now 'sorting out the situation'.

'That's not within our competence to comment on the issue right now; I guess we fill soon find out what actually happened there', he said, providing no more details of the incident.

Kherson News outlet also reported that the base camp of Crimean Tatar battalion in Chongar was attacked and captured. The newspaper referred to the leader of the regional branch of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Abmedjit Suleymanov.
