Germany's Merkel sets news conference on Sunday
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is going to hold a news conference on Sunday evening, her conservative Christian Democratic party announced on Friday.
German leader is widely expected to announce her decision to run for a fourth term.
Earlier on Thursday U.S. President Barack Obama called Merkel an "outstanding partner"
during a joint news conference. He stressed she might get his support if he was a German citizen and she decided to run again.
Merkel is in power since 2005. Facing some drop in support because of her refugee policy, Merkel said she would announce her decision whether to run for another term at the appropriate moment.
Close Merkel aides have said she is moving toward another run, and one lawmaker in her conservative party this week told CNN
that she would definitely put herself forward.
