U.S., Japan and South Korea to talk over North Korea on Sunday

U.S., Japan and South Korea to talk over North Korea on SundayU.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with Japanese and South Korean Foreign Ministers in New York on Sunday to discuss responses to North Korea's latest nuclear test, South Korean foreign ministry announced on Wednesday.

After the fifth nuclear test, conducted by isolated country on Friday, the three countries are seeking for tougher U.N. Security Council sanctions on North Korea.

The blast was in defiance of U.N. sanctions that were tightened in March.

The March resolution was backed by China, which is still main North Korea’s ally. But this time China resists harsh new sanctions as the country opposes the United States and South Korea’s decision to deploy a sophisticated anti-missile system in the South.

South Korea said Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and his counterparts Kerry and Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida will meet during the annual U.N. General Assembly to discuss putting further pressure on North Korea.
