Czech President says Crimea cannot be returned to Ukraine
However, the Czech leader admitted it was taken by annexation, The New York Times.
The President of Czech President Milos Zeman answering a reader's question said: "An annexation means breaching international agreements and it is doubtless that agreements guaranteeing Ukraine's territorial integrity were breached," according to www.parlamentnilisty.cz.
"On the other hand, I agree with you that [Soviet leader Nikita] Khrushchev made an unforgivable silly thing and world's politicians acknowledge today that Crimea cannot be given back to Ukraine," he added.
Zeman expressed his sympathy to Russia by speaking out against the EU sanctions imposed on Russia due its annexation of the Crimea peninsula.
He was also the only Western leader to attend the May 2015 celebrations in Moscow to commemorate the end of II World War.
