United Russia stole artwork for its campaign from Swedish artistSwedish artist Nils-Petter Ekwall accused the Russian party United Russia in unauthorized using of his artwork in election campaign.

Ekwall posted on Tweeter his artwork in comparison with front page of party’s edition with comment: “Artwork theft Russia information wanted.”

“I’m looking for information about this unauthorized use of my copyrighted work,” he added in another post.

The artist told, unknown sender e-mailed him the image of party’s propaganda material, in which he recognized the image he painted in 2013 for a special edition of The Financial Times. On the image the artist received, the website address of the Novgorod regional branch of United Russia could be seen.

As United Russia’s representative said that "this material went on a small number of copies, because it's all been used in a small town in Russia" and there would be now such situations in future.
