European Court of Auditors (ECA) performing in the audit of the EU budget and its institutions, concluded that multi-million dollar financial aid for Moldova has "only a limited effect " and do not adequately contribute to the strengthening of national public institutions, according to a report of ECA published on its website on September 1.

Among all the Eastern European neighbours of EU, Moldava receives the largest financial aid per capita and it since 2007 it amounted to €782mln.

Accounting Chamber noted that the efficiency of aid programs in Moldova have been significantly reduced due to the problems with program planning and lack of political will in the government.

Thus, Moldova has been recommended to align the allocation of funds to the implementation of terms and regulations more closely in the future.
