The head of the General Staff of Ukraine in Donbass
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko ordered the head of the General Staff of Ukraine to go the ATO zone to monitor and control the situation, Vesti.
The President Poroshenko said: "The Army General Muzhenko is at the ATO zone, he personally had witnessed the artillery shelling. Yesterday at 1am the last report was submitted. I can point out and inform the Ukrainians - the Ukrainian army is ready to repulse."
The president did not exclude the possibility of excalation of the conflict in Donbas and a full-scale intrusion by Russian military.
He said: "We are ready to repulse an aggressor both in the East and along the administrative border with Crimea."
In case the situation escalates the President promised to impose martial law and to announce mobilization.
