The mayor of Toretsk suspected in the infringement of the territorial integrity of Ukraine
The Prosecutor of Donetsk region Evhen Bondarenko has officially brought a suspicion to the mayor of Toretsk Volodymir Slipcov that states the infringement of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and participation in a terror group, UNIAN.
Slipcov is suspected in committing criminal offence prescribed by paragraph 1 of the Article 258-3 (participation in a terror group or a terror organization) and paragraph 2 Article 110 (infringement of the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine (POU) is currently putting a motion to grant a public servant with a punitive measure, namely detention in custody.
The investigation found that the mayor was engaged into the preparation and realization of the illegal referendum on the state independency of terror organization “DPR” in Toretsk.
The suspected had been charring the city council meeting and put on agenda a matter on the unlawful referendum, according to the POU.
“Besides the mayor and city council members, representatives of the terror organization “DPR” partook in the meeting, who also called to recognize the pseudo-republic and illegally took off the flag of Ukraine and carried it out the sessional hall,” the POU.
