Major progress in the Sheremeta case, GPSome strides have been made in the case of a journalist killed. However, information will not be revealed to the public, General Prosecutor (GP) Yurii Lutsenko said at a briefing.

“There is no information concerning the Sheremeta case that could be exposed to the public. We have taken great strides in its investigation, however it is not public,” – Lutsenko added.

In the result of a car explosion, Pavel Sheremeta died on July 20, 2016 in the downtown Kyiv.

The police qualified the case as a killing with intent.

FBR joined the investigation to research the chemicals components that were used in the explosive device put under the journalist’s car.

According to the police, it was a self-made explosive device.

The police considers four versions of murder: a hostile relationship with the deceased, a professional journalist activity, a potential destabilization in the country as the result of a high-profile journalist murder, a mistake – the killers’ target could be a journalist Elena Prytula, who was Sheremeta’s cohabitant.
