Russian Black Sea fleet under a criminal investigation in UkraineAlexandr Vitko, the chief of Russian Black Sea fleet, is under a criminal investigation in Ukraine. A Kyiv court has issued an order for his arrest. Vitko is charged with participating in the Russian occupation of Crimea. This is according to the Ukrainian General Prosecutor's office.

"Aleksandr Vitko is hiding from the investigators. The court has fully satisfied our demands and ordered his detention", the officials said.

Earlier the prosecutors claimed Vitko was notified of suspision. "The relevant document was delivered to his home in Sevastopol, Crimea", they said.

Investigators add they have enough evidence to prove Vitko's guilt. However, the Russian official expresses no desire to come to Kyiv and stand trial. He denies he ever received any summons from Ukraine.

Among other crimes allegedly committed by Vitko are the takeover of state buildings, inciting treason and damaging Ukrainian property. It is stated his actions caused losses for Ukraine estimated in around USD 100 billion dollars.
