This fact is announced by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
"The Parliament has passed a series of laws that were initiated by the government in order to strengthen anti-corruption legislation. So, now the government has fulfilled its duty and adopted a resolution on the establishment of the National Agency for detection, investigation and management of assets gained through corruption", - said Pavlo Petrenko, the Head of the Department.
According to him, similar bodies exist in all EU countries without exception.
Quickly and effectively, on the demand of an investigator, they have the opportunity to obtain the information about the funds, property and other foreign assets of a person, suspected of a crime.
Petrenko also informed that the Cabinet of Ministers appealed to the Parliament to submit as soon as possible its representatives to the tender committee for the selection of Agency’s members.
A similar request was made by the government, which appealed to the Parliament and the President regarding the appointment of the tender committee’s members for the selection of the Head of the State Bureau of Investigation.
